Garrick Alex, DDS, MD

Dr. Garrick Alex is a 3rd generation dentist who was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He received his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and his D.D.S. from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, then completed six years of full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at New York Presbyterian Hospital. During his residency he completed a full year of general surgery training, extensive anesthesia training, and served as Chief Resident in his final year. He also participated in cleft missions through Smile Train and Healing the Children.

Dr. Alex enjoys all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including guided bone regeneration, dental implant surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, pathology, management of TMJ dysfunction, sleep apnea, and wisdom tooth removal. He is an associate clinical professor at Columbia University, an attending surgeon at New York Presbyterian Hospital, and an attending at Greenwich Hospital, where he takes trauma call for the Emergency Department.

He believes in a patient-centered model where listening and communication are key to achieving each patient’s specific goals, and is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care in a comfortable, professional setting. In his free time Dr. Alex enjoys lecturing, teaching, running, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with his family.
